Cusseta-Chattahoochee County

Cusseta–Chattahoochee County is a unique community rich in bountiful natural resources and friendly citizens. It is a family-centered, primarily residential community offering the lifestyle of a small rural county with all the necessities of life, such as adequate housing, infrastructure, and social and public services. 
 

Cusseta–Chattahoochee County is one of several consolidated city/county governments in the region. Since 1918, Fort Moore has occupied the majority of Chattahoochee County. Chattahoochee County was created on February 13, 1854, from portions of Muscogee and Marion counties. It is named for the Chattahoochee River, which forms its western boundary. The county seat was named Cusseta to commemorate the historic Creek Indian town of that name that long existed nearby. Among the sites of interest are the National Infantry Museum, River Bend Park, and the Cusseta Industrial High School, a Rosenwald School.
